There are tons of pools around Disney World property, but some of them really stand out above the others.
One of the standouts is Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool over at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. These areas have incredible theming and have plenty of seating for lots of guests to enjoy, but they need some TLC, which is why they’re CLOSING for MONTHS in just a few weeks.
That’s right — starting January 2025 and continuing through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed to the public.
This is a big reason a lot of families choose to stay at this hotel, because it’s, again, such an entertaining one! There are also several other pools available to use while this area is closed. There’s so much to discover at Stormalong Bay, and guests from both Yacht and Beach Club resorts have access to this pool.
However, these areas also require guests staying at these hotels to have wristbands to enter the pool areas. Guests will need to show their hotel reservation on their My Disney Experience App, or their room key, to receive a wristband that will allow them access to the pool area.
This way, guests from other hotels (and guests who aren’t staying at any hotel) can’t come in and take up seats by the pool. We know that stinks for guests who aren’t staying but just want to see what it looks like, but Disney has been very strict about visitors to this pool!
