I Know Exactly What You're Doing the Next Time You're in Line for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney World

Yo-ho, or uh-oh? Here’s the thing. We LOVE Disney’s iconic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. From the smells — we LOVE pirate water!! — to the characters, there’s something about this ride that never gets old.

But the truth is, this ride actually is VERY old. The ride has a pretty impressive history, and most people don’t even know all the fun facts and hidden details. But how can you learn it all? Well, we’re not big fans of homework around here, so instead, we’re going to give you something NEW to do the next time you’re bored and stuck waiting in line for Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

OK, so there’s a lot to talk about when it comes to this ride. First of all, in the U.S., there are TWO Pirates of the Caribbean attractions — one in Disneyland, located in New Orleans Square, and one in Disney World, located in Adventureland.

Disney fans have some STRONG opinions about both American versions of the ride. In fact, when we recently asked our readers on Facebook which version of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride (between Disney World and Disneyland) is SUPERIOR, fans had a LOT to say. It’s Time. We NEED to Talk About This Controversial Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Debate

The Magic Kingdom version of the ride lasts about eight-and-a-half minutes and features 125 Audio-Animatronics figures, including 65 pirates and villagers and 60 animals and birds. There is no height requirement, which means you can make this epic ride your little one’s first Disney World attraction. How fun!

OK, now that we’ve got the basics established, let’s talk about why you’re here. Pirates of the Caribbean can rack up some HIGH wait times depending on the time of day.
