No two Disney World trips are alike — trust us, we’re there every day!

But, it’s especially true right now when so many of the parks, hotels, and more are changing! No matter when you’re planning on visiting Disney World next, it’s important to stay up to date on the latest changes. But don’t worry, that’s where we come in.
We search permits recently filed by Disney around the parks and hotels to get an idea of what sort of projects might be coming up in Disney World — and we recently spotted a new permit for the Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom!

The permit description lists “general construction,” which means this could be major work or something like installing a new sign. This ride originally debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair — so it is a bit older than Disney World itself and could need some love.

No closures are listed on the Disney World website, so we’re hopeful this is just routine maintenance and not a long refurbishment!

We also noticed that a new permit was filed over at Port Orleans French Quarter for the recently reopened Doubloon Lagoon pool, so there may be some unfinished business to attend to.

And keep an eye out at Swirled Showcase in EPCOT for any potential changes — we spotted a new permit for that spot too!

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

There is no need to “ update” this classic attraction…it’s a history lesson for the many who have no idea about the way things were…as a Teacher I’m glad they finally get something!
I think its about time to update the last scene of the show. The “future” in that scene has already past!
I, too, hope this is just general maintenance. Although the ride is old, it is a classic and overseen by Walt himself. No need to improve on perfection regarding the show; just keep the carousel machinery working as smoothly and without glitches as it used to.
Who wants to bet that the further destruction of Walt’s dream will be a more “inclusive” family scene. I will not be “included” with the attendance!
I hadn’t thought of that. Oh, please, NO!
