It’s no secret that the EPCOT transformation turned the park into a total construction zone. But things are changing!
Slowly but surely over the past few years, we’ve seen the construction walls come down and new attractions open like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Now, new walls are going UP in EPCOT?! Let’s get into it.
We were visiting EPCOT to see what’s new in the parks when we noticed a big walkway was blocked off. What gives?!
Here is a look at the closure on the map. The red squiggly line is where the blocked off walkway is right now. To get from World Showcase to World Nature, you’ll now need to go through World Celebration.
It’s unclear exactly why these walls are up, but we’ll keep an eye on them! This path has been blocked before, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen walls here.
The 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival starts on February 28th, so hopefully these walls will come down soon with the festival crowds.
Although Disney hoped to finish the EPCOT transformation by the end of 2023, there is still some work to be done. CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall are in progress and we’ve been keeping an eye on the construction.
