Splash Mountain’s Icon Has Been REMOVED from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride Vehicles

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be opening before we know it in Disney World, and we can’t wait! Though Disney hasn’t shared an official opening date, we know that summer 2024 is when we’ll finally be able to ride this long-awaited attraction.

We’ve been keeping up with the latest updates and recently saw water added to the ride, followed by the iconic Splash Mountain log vehicles. Disney has shared that those aren’t changed, except for the Br’er Rabbot icon on the front. So, what is Disney going to replace it with?

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up right where The Princess and the Frog left off when it comes to Tiana’s story. It starts right “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”

The princess reached her goal of opening her own restaurant called Tiana’s Palace (which you can dine at in Disneyland!) and that business has expanded to become Tiana’s Foods. That’s why you’ll see the logo printed on the water tower!

The ride begins at Tiana’s big Mardi Gras party she’s throwing. Eventually, Tiana realizes something is missing! Then everyone (including you!) goes on a journey to find that missing ingredient for the big party.

So, while much of this ride is changing, we know that the ride vehicles are actually staying the same, save for the Br’er Rabbit that used to adorn the front of the logs. We’ve caught glimpses of the boats making their way through the track, and so far, the fronts look empty.

It’s possible that Disney won’t even replace the Br’er Rabbit icon, but if they did, we have a few theories as to what might make a good fit.

Of course, it would make perfect sense for a frog or two to be perched atop the logs since this is a Princess and the Frog-themed attraction, but that might be a little too obvious.

We know that Tiana’s pal Louis will play a role in the ride as a guide of sorts — during the mixup before the Mardi Gras party, riders will go with Louis, the lovable trumpet-playing alligator, into the bayou to find it.

Perhaps Louis will literally guide the way by being affixed to the front of the ride vehicle logs! For now, we’ll just have to wait and keep an eye out for any potential updates as we get closer to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening.
