While Disney World is the Most Magical Place On Earth, it’s also one of the most Crowded Places On Earth.

Sometimes, you just need some peace and quiet. Whether you’re hoping to simply take a breather, enjoy a snack in solace, have a photoshoot with some friends, or just want to explore, we’ve got you covered when it comes to less-crowded areas and “secret” spots. This post is dedicated to all those secret spots in Magic Kingdom!
Magic Kingdom is a really popular park, especially for those traveling with kiddos. It can also seem relatively small since everything is built really close together. It can seem hard to find private, quieter areas, but rest assured that they’re there! Without further ado, let’s talk about some secret places we love.

1. Area Adjacent to Town Square Theater
When you first walk into the park, you can turn right and head toward Town Square Theater. To the very right, there will be a little section past the doors to the hat and ears shop that offer some ledges to sit down for a moment as well as some beautiful flowers and greenery for photos.

We love taking photos here because it’s private and a great way to take those “Disney but not Disney” photos. There’s never anyone over there, so it’s perfectly quiet and peaceful most of the time.
2. Cheshire Cafe Seating
Okay, we know that Cheshire Cafe isn’t at all secret. However, the seating area is often empty, which most folks don’t expect. Of course, there are days when it’s particularly busy, but for the most part it’s a nice place to unwind, do homework, or chat with some friends or family in a quiet place.

We find it to be the least busy in the early mornings and then again at early afternoon. Cheshire Cafe sells the kind of food that’s super easy to grab and eat as you’re walking, so many folks skip right over the seating here.
3. Harmony Barber Shop
A few of you probably already know about this one, but located on Main Street U.S.A., you’ll find Harmony Barber Shop, which seems like the type of location that’s there for “decoration only.” However, you can actually go inside here and get haircuts!

This is a super special spot for many parents to take their young kiddos for their very first haircuts.
4. Second Floor of Restaurants
A lot of folks grab the first table they find at many Magic Kingdom restaurants, because those restaurants are seemingly always BUSY. However, there are sometimes more secluded areas to dine, like upstairs areas!

Specifically, we like the upstairs areas of Columbia Harbor House and Pinocchio Village Haus. They’re rarely crowded and offer a quieter place to dine.
5. Dock by Big Thunder Mountain for Fireworks
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a great place to watch the fireworks in general, whether you’re on the ride or nearby. The dock closer to the water is a favorite spot of ours because it’s quiet and nearly empty toward the end of the night.

While you might not be able to see some of the projections or the music, it’s still magical if you’ve seen the show up close before and want to experience the show without necessarily experiencing allllll of the show.
6. Yellow Tent in Storybook Circus With Charging Posts
The yellow tent in Storybook Circus is a former Relaxation Station from the pandemic days that provides seating and a moment of peace and quiet for visitors.

There are also plenty of outlets so you can charge your phone while you sit in the shade!
7. Tom Sawyer Island… In General
While Tom Sawyer Island itself isn’t necessarily a secret, it’s a pretty quiet spot because many visitors don’t take the time to venture to the island!

Here, you’ll find all sorts of secret caves and tunnels, and even a hidden bathroom on Fort Langhorn. There’s hardly anyone here, and it can be a great spot to have a quiet afternoon.
See? Disney World CAN be relaxing! 😂 You just have to know where to look. We’ll continue to keep you updated with more Disney news and advice, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop and never miss anything.
