2024 is fast approaching, and if you’re planning your trip already, you’ve got to be strategic about it.
There are many things you’ll get to do for the first time in 2024, but there are also new problems you’ll have to face. If you’re planning to prioritize Magic Kingdom and are looking to avoid the largest crowds, here are the dates we recommend AVOIDING in 2024!
Major Holidays
Holidays are pretty much always going to be busy in Disney World because many people want to spend these holidays in the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Here are the holidays you should specifically avoid in 2024:
- Easter (March 31st, 2024)
- Memorial Day (May 27th, 2024)
- 4th of July (July 4th, 2024)
- Labor Day (September 2nd, 2024)
- Halloween (October 31st, 2024)
- Thanksgiving (November 28th, 2024)
- Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (December 24th & 25th, 2024)
- New Year’s Eve (December 31st, 2024)
Opening Day of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Now, we don’t have the opening date of this new ride just yet, but we do know its projected opening is late 2024. And when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens, it’ll be WILDLY busy in Magic Kingdom.
If you’re planning your vacation for the end of 2024, you may want to prepare yourself to change what park you plan to visit that day if you find that your vacation falls on the opening day of the ride.
Now, if you want to be one of the first to ride, then by all means, rope drop the ride, but if you’re focused on avoiding the crowds, this will be a day you want to avoid the park.
Halloween and Christmas Party Dates
Starting in late summer, Disney introduces their Halloween party that happens on select nights, and after October 31st passes, the Christmas party begins. These are also days you DON’T want to be in the parks.
This is for a few reasons. Party guests will be allowed into the park with other normal-ticketed guests towards the end of the day, which means double the crowds. However, if you don’t have a party ticket, the park closes HOURS earlier than normal, so you won’t have as much time as you usually do in the park.
So yeah, if you’re traveling during the later months and realize there will be party dates during your trip, we highly recommend avoiding Magic Kingdom on those days.
Special Event Nights
We also don’t have specific dates for Magic Kingdom’s special events just yet, but throughout the year, we do see the park close randomly due to special events.
Sometimes these are Cast Member-specific events, while others are public After-Hours events that require a separate ticket. Regardless of what the event actually is, since the park will also close early these nights, we don’t recommend visiting the parks on these days either.
While it’s too early to know when some of these specific dates will be, we encourage you to keep up with AllEars for all the latest news — we’ll keep you updated on all the Magic Kingdom you could ever need!
