This Universal Land Just Got A MAJOR Construction Update

As you may know, Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando is currently undergoing major construction.

The Lost Continent, which opened with the park, is now in the process of closing to make room for a future yet-to-be-announced land. And we just found some new photos that gave us major insight into the construction process.

Bioreconstruct posted several aerial shots of The Lost Continent that provide an incredible view into all the construction happening in this land, especially where the former Poseidon’s Fury show used to take place.

Here you can see that all of the statue work and ruins that used to sit outside this attraction have been completely removed. We saw Universal begin this process a few months ago, and it appears that phase of the construction has been completed.

Poseidon’s Fury Construction

While the award-winning Mythos Restaurant is still open in The Lost Continent for now, it is scheduled to close sometime in 2027. And we can see construction is taking place around the restaurant. You can also see the construction walls have essentially cut off everything in this land except for the entrance to the restaurant.

Finally, in this wide angle you can see the construction throughout the entire land, most notably the back of the Poseidon’s Fury show building, which is open and in the process of being removed.

While we are sad to see this classic land go, we are so excited to see what the future holds for Islands of Adventure and what Universal will do with this space. And don’t forget to visit Mythos while it’s still there to take in the last of The Lost Continent theming and experience before it is gone for good.
