What's Going On With This Closed EPCOT Restaurant? We Have a Clue!

EPCOT is about to be one of the MOST exciting places in Disney World.

Why? Well, the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival arrived on July 27th, and that means that we’ll have the opportunity to see some great entertainment, buy some unique merchandise, and eat a lot of food. Speaking of food, though, we think we just spotted a HUGE clue about one Food and Wine Festival booth.

You may recall that Traveler’s Cafe was once the Starbucks location for EPCOT, but it closed after Connections Cafe and Eatery opened (and became EPCOT’s NEW Starbucks location). Well, we recently noticed that Traveler’s Cafe was getting a new paint job, suggesting that Disney has plans for the location.

When we spoke with a Cast Member about the paint job, we were told that this would probably be a new food and beverage spot.

A new EPCOT Food and Wine Festival booth?

So what does this have to do with the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival? We just got a good look at the map for the festival and we noticed that the location for the Swirled Showcase, a new booth coming to the festival this year, was located in the vicinity of where the Traveler’s Cafe building sits.

So it could be that Traveler’s Cafe will be the location of the Swirled Showcase food booth for the festival. This booth isn’t set to open until later this fall, but once it does open, you’ll be able to a Mickey-shaped Liquid Nitro Cake, several flavors of soft-serve, soda floats, other non-alcoholic beverages, and some boozy floats.
