Animal Kingdom is the most underrated Disney World park in many people’s eyes.
One thing we especially love about Animal Kingdom is the FOOD! There are tons of unique, delicious snacks and meals that are exclusive to this park and the different continents it represents. A fan-favorite of many AllEars readers is Flame Tree Barbecue, and if you don’t know what the hype is behind it, here’s why EVERYONE loves this restaurant!
Flame Tree Barbecue is a quick-service restaurant located at Discovery Island in Animal Kingdom. The theme of the restaurant is Predator and Prey in a subtle way that won’t scare young kids, and each part of the restaurant reveals it in a lighthearted way.
So why does everyone love this restaurant? There are multiple different reasons, but we figured we’d break it down into a few key points.
Great Price for A Great Portion
Flame Tree Barbecue is known for reasonably priced food that comes in great portion sizes.
It’s no secret that a Disney vacation can add up very quickly, so finding a restaurant that will fill you up but not break the bank is important. Most meals at Flame Tree Barbecue range from $11.49-$16.49, and many of these items are either filling or shareable.
Delicious Food and Solid Every Time
What’s better than knowing that your food is going to be delicious? Knowing that it’s going to be good every time you get it, which can’t be said for everywhere in Disney World.
Flame Tree Barbecue is known for being a consistently good option in Animal Kingdom, so you won’t have to worry about the quality of your food changing every time you eat there.
Mobile Order
While most quick-service spots have mobile orders now in Disney World, that can’t be said for every single spot. Not only does Flame Tree Barbecue have mobile order, but it’s known for being pretty quick as well!
Mobile order is super helpful because you can order from a completely different section of the park, and let them know when you’ve arrived so your food isn’t sitting out before you’ve arrived.

Plenty of Seating
Finding a place to sit is very important when you grab your food (you’re on your feet all day, so finding a moment to sit at any point is a relief!), and that can be difficult if the restaurant you’re eating at doesn’t have a large seating area. However, Flame Tree Barbecue does have a large seating area that many people love!
However, all of the seating is outside. Don’t worry though — the whole area is covered or shaded by trees to give you a break from the sun.

Food is great but my favourite part is to get a table by the water with a view of Expedition Everest. Nice quiet relaxing break!
Love love love this place! Ribs and onion rings are always great! Plus the corn bread! Yum
Most of the choices available at Flame Tree are large enough for dinner, plus I don’t eat meat on bones (a personal issue). So, that leaves me with the only lunch choice being the pulled pork sandwich, which I am tired of being stuck with. I wish they offered a barbecued chicken sandwich or a brisket sandwich. I can’t even talk them into a pile of pulled pork without a bun, which I seldom eat. But I do enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, at least after we’ve had to walk for blocks to find a table. It may not be air conditioned, but the surrounding trees and water features make the seating area seem cooler than it actually is.
And my favorite reason, $2 Cornbread that is double the size of any $7 cupcake!!!!
