VIDEO: Watch Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Construction in Disney World

Okay, so we’ll admit we’re getting a little excited about all the construction happening in Disney World, especially over in Magic Kingdom.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Splash Mountain has closed and it is being re-themed as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and, yes, we’ve been scoping out the construction progress every day, because we can’t wait to see what this ride ends up looking like. Well, now we’ve got an update for you.

We noticed that there was more scaffolding put up around the area where the log flume of the ride comes down. We saw more scrims, too.

Construction

The water is still drained from the flume track, which we expect will be the case for a while.

The track

The hanging birdhouses that used to be in the queue are gone now — the space in the queue seems to be wider now.

Wider walking areas

Many of the windows and other exposed areas in the queue are covered with sheets. We also heard a lot of construction noise going on from behind those walls. Exciting!

Areas are getting covered

We also saw a Cast Member doing some painting so we might soon see what the outside colors of the ride will look like. Note that there’s still a sign in the area that says “Splash Mountain.”

Painting!

One AllEars reader was in Magic Kingdom at night and saw some welding happening on the ride. This is not something you see in Disney World every day!

We’ll continue to keep an eye on construction progress on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is set to open in Disney World in 2024 (yes, that seems like a long time to us, too).

In the meantime, be sure to check back with AllEars for more Disney news!
