The ICONIC Disney World Scents You Wish You Could Take Home

Disney World isn’t just a spectacle for the eyes — the experience of being at the resort encompasses all five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, and even smell.

We bet you can smell this photo.

Smells, in particular, are something Disney World guests typically remember, but which ones are your favorites? We asked our readers which Disney World scent you wished your house smelled like and here’s what you said!

So MANY of us absolutely love the smell of the water rides in Disney World, thanks to the bromine that’s put in the water. AE Reader Gillian said, “It’s a Small World. Really all the water rides at WDW have that unique smell that makes me feel like I’m home.”

Allison agreed but was more specific, “Pirates ride water!!”

There’s also a certain burning scent that some of you like in EPCOT. Becky said, “Spaceship Earth. I mean, I know it represents Rome burning which isn’t great but it’s a memory trigger smell.”

Catherine agreed and answered, “The scent of Rome burning on Spaceship Earth.”

One of OUR favorites is the smell you get when you walk by Karamell-Kuche in EPCOT.  That’s one that makes you drool, too! Matt answered, “Karamell Kuche in Germany pavilion.”

That caramel smell!

Hotels at Disney World smell good, too, and many of you mentioned your favorites. Heather said, “Carribean Beach lobby!…. even their bathroom smells good!”

Veronica likes the beachy scents at two of the EPCOT resorts: “Beach Club or Yacht Club lobbies.”

You LOVE the smell here.

Terri said, “Ooo! The lobby of the Riviera!”

Darlene wasn’t picky and said, “Any of the resort lobbies.”

Other hotel scents mentioned were those at the Contemporary, Polynesian, Port Orleans, and Grand Floridian. You also discussed the scents coming from Main Street Bakery, Flight of Passage, and Soarin.’
