Is your New Years’ Resolution to blast into the galaxy on an immersive interstellar adventure with some of your favorite Star Wars heroes?

Well, this new discount that was just released may help you check that resolution off your list — if you’re a DVC member.
The resort is part hotel, part escape room, part role-playing, but 100% unique and thrilling as guests aboard the Halcyon Starcruiser get to live out their own interactive Star Wars stories. It was met with curiosity when it first opened since it was hard to understand the whole concept without seeing it. After the “maiden voyage” the cynics were quelled, but the price tag eventually proved a bit of a deterrent once the novelty wore off. However, Disney has just announced the FIRST discount on the experience!
Disney Vacation Club members are eligible save on select Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyages in 2023. The offer gives 30% off of Points Chart values for the 2-night experience and can be booked with points or a combination of points and cash. The following dates are the voyages eligible for discounts:
- January 11th-13th, 2023
- January 17th-19th, 2023
- January 19th-21st, 2023
- January 21st-23rd, 2023
- January 25th-27th, 2023

- February 12th-14th, 2023
- February 28th-March 2nd, 2023

To qualify for this discount, members must be eligible for membership extras. And guests can only apply the discount to one cabin. Additionally, at least one member must be booked using DVC points, but others in the travel party can use a combination of points and cash. The offer is only available for standard cabins and not suites.

DVC members will need to book by calling Member Services. And since Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is an exclusive experience with limited capacity, it’s sure to book up quickly!

Disappointment was the heaviest emotion associated with my stay at Disney’s Galactic Star Cruiser last April. Arrival past the generally industrial feeling shipping containers to wait out in the weather started things off with an unfinished, cheap industrial loading dock feel. Then the long wait with too-few undertrained personnel to check in which required me to repeat my name 7 times and eventually give a college aged cast member my business card made me feel like I was dealing with temporary school interns at a low budget Six Flags attraction rather than at a premium Disney resort. The entrance way is dark, unfinished, cheap concrete and the arrival feels like being escorted into an Imperial Detention Center but not in a good way.
Do NOT pay $5k or more to ‘ride’ the Disney Star Wars Halcyon hotel. Disney is massively shortchanging their customers with this effort and worse still, using such a large number of underpaid, undertrained interns to staff the hotel while also cutting corners on physical quality (exposed wires, blue painters tape) and experience quality (20+ cast members with only 10 canned spoken lines) is simply low class on the part of Disney.
Of course they’re offering discounts! They have vacancies and people that have stayed there were not impressed…just poorer.
