VIDEOS: Construction Update on the Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

We’ve been sharing construction updates from all over Disney World but today’s has to be one of the sweetest!

Disney’s Grand Floridian

Progress is being made on the TRON ride, and the Moana attraction is coming together. But over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, progress is being made on something with a scent that truly fills the air.

It’s the ICONIC Gingerbread House! We stopped by this spot on November 1st and the gingerbread house was starting to take shape, but it still had a ways to go.

Just one day later, there’s been some tremendous progress!

WOAH!

The sides of the house are now mostly adorned in gingerbread and more color has been added to the overall design.

Things Are Really Coming Together Nicely

It really is amazing to see just how quickly Disney makes big progress on this project.

Another Look at the Construction

While seeing this completed is wonderful, it’s almost more impressive to see it while it’s under construction.

Near the construction area, you’ll now find a gingerbread man with some important facts.

The gingerbread house that is being put together is HUGE and made of over 1,050 pounds of honey, 140 pounds of egg whites, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, and 800(!!) pounds of sugar. That’ll give you a serious cavity!

Ingredients

If you’re ever in Disney World at the start of November, be sure to add the Grand Floridian to your must-visit list. Whether you go to watch the Cast Members work their magic, take in the gingerbread smells, or (once it opens) enjoy some sweet treats, it’s sure to add some festive fun to your vacation.

We’ll keep checking back at the Grand Floridian Resort for updates on this gingerbread creation. But keep in mind that this isn’t the only piece of gingerbread art you’ll want to see. Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, you can see a gingerbread CAROUSEL (and yes, it’s as epic as it sounds).
