One of the most common ways people travel to Disney World is via MCO, or the Orlando International Airport.
The busy airport is currently undergoing an expansion to include a new Terminal C. With that new terminal comes new shops and, more importantly, more restaurants. We’re sharing new details — including an opening timeline — about one of the restaurants that will soon call MCO home!
We were so excited when Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ reopened in Disney Springs last year!
Featuring southern fare with a Florida flair, the popular restaurant is the brainchild of celebrity Chef Art Smith, a Florida native. So it only makes sense that he’d open a new restaurant somewhere frequented by many Floridians!
Smith’s latest idea is called The Sunshine Diner and is part of the chef’s “dream to revitalize the great American diner.” This new restaurant is opening soon in the Orlando International Airport.
He shared some of the concept art for this restaurant in a Facebook post, which you can see below!

It looks like this spot will have booths, tables, a bar area, and even a “grab and go” station for quick snacks.
Few details have been shared, like menu items or a specific opening date, but we do know The Sunshine Diner is expected to open in Summer 2022. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more details, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more!
