With the new year arriving, a lot of us are looking for ways to get fit and one great way to break a sweat is doing a runDisney race! New races have been announced for the next two years, but one of Disney’s most intense race weekends just finished up: the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!
This morning, we spotted some of the runners as they finished their race and there were some AMAZING costumes!
Today, we headed over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom to watch the marathon runners finish a very long runDisney event.

Even the Citizens of Hollywood (the performers in Hollywood Studios) came out to cheer on the brave runners who took on the Disney World Marathon!

Today at the Animal Kingdom, guests were allowed to head in a little early to cheer on the runners as they finished the marathon (honestly, we’re getting out of breath just thinking about a marathon!). Royalty decided to stop by the race today with Cinderella and Prince Charming running the marathon! It’s always fun to see the killer costumes people break out for these events!
Running is supposed to help you stay youthful! Speaking of staying forever young, we spotted Peter Pan running today’s race. It appears that Peter Pan’s shadow is also running the race (seriously, this costume choice is IMPRESSIVE).
Finally, we saw the God of Mischief, Loki! I guess even Asgardians have to work out to stay fit!
If you want to get in on the runDisney fun, the next race event is the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend from February 24th to 27th!
There’s also the Springtime Surprise Weekend, a new runDisney event happening March 31st to April 3rd! This new race weekend replaces the old Star Wars-themed weekend.
We’re always keeping up with the latest Disney news and more, so stay tuned here for more!
