PHOTOS: What Magic Kingdom Crowds Looked Like on the 50th Anniversary

Today’s the DAY, everyone! The 50th anniversary celebrations have officially begun in Disney World! And, let’s just say that we’re having quite the busy day, hopping from park to park to see everything happening around Disney World.

Cinderella Castle

We’ve already got a full day of plans in the Magic Kingdom, since the park is rolling out specialty treats, new entertainment, and all sorts of decorations.  But, the Magic Kingdom is also VERY full of guests, as Park Passes have continued to sell out over the months. So, what does the park look like on the actual 50th anniversary? Well, we are taking you with us to see the crowds!

We entered into Magic Kingdom this morning and were met with a LOT of people.

Before 8AM

Many were heading to the hub to get in front of Cinderella Castle.

Hub Morning Crowds

There were people as far as the eye could see!

WOW!

People were getting their spot for the Welcome Back show in front of the castle.

Waiting patiently

Walking away from the main Hub area, we saw the line for the castle popcorn cart, which was stretched super far! It was one of the longest lines we’ve seen.

Really long line!

While there were a lot of guests in the Hub, when we moved away into other areas of the park, it was pretty calm!

We guess everyone is in front of the castle!

When it was time for Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade, Main Street, U.S.A. was pretty packed with people trying to get a look at those new EARidescent costumes Mickey and friends have on!

Everyone wants to see the show!

And there were even more guests up by Cinderella Castle to take in the cavalcade.

Everyone is apparently obsessed with Pluto

In the early afternoon, we saw some significant crowds over in Tomorrowland outside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

People, people!

Let’s check out wait times! These were some of the wait times for rides around the park as of 2:15PM:

  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant – 5 minutes
  • “it’s a small world” – 5 minutes
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – 15 minutes
  • Space Mountain – 15 minutes
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 20 minutes
  • Pirates of the Caribbean – 20 minutes
  • Peter Pan’s Flight – 30 minutes
  • Haunted Mansion – 35 minutes
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 40 minutes
  • Jungle Cruise – 45 minutes

Not bad wait times at all! It seems like there might be more people trying to get food or merchandise than actually going on the rides, because there are a lot of people in the park! Here’s a look at Liberty Square as of mid-afternoon.

We’ll be sure to update this post throughout the day so you can see the crowds during the 50th anniversary! Stay tuned with All Ears for the latest Disney entertainment and news.
