Today’s Wait Times at Magic Kingdom Are NOT What We Expected

This summer has seen the return of crowds to Disney World, but now that school is starting back up, we do expect that the crowds will dissipate some, except for maybe on weekends.

Main Street, U.S.A. crowds this morning

However, Magic Kingdom was a virtual ghost town this morning, perhaps because it’s closing at 6PM today.

Whatever the case, we’ve seen some of the lowest wait times for attractions than we’ve seen in a LONG time. So we’ll start with the longest wait we’ve seen so far. The wait for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was only 40 minutes — and this was a few hours after park opening!

Only 40 minutes?

Other wait times were even shorter. Pirates of the Caribbean only had a wait time of 10 minutes.

Only 10 minutes

Jungle Cruise only had a 10-minute wait time posted.

Only 10 minutes here, too!

Haunted Mansion barely had a line and its wait time was listed as 15 minutes.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was practically a walk-on this morning, with a 5-minute wait time.

Only 5 minutes?

Guests who wanted to take a spin on the Mad Tea Party also only had a 5-minute wait.

Only 5 here, too.

The wait time for “it’s a small world” was also posted as just 5 minutes.

it’s a small world

As we previously said, these are some of the lowest wait times we’ve seen in a long time for these attractions. So if you head on over to Magic Kingdom later, you’ll probably have a chance to ride more attractions than ever before — but keep in mind, the park does close at 6PM today.

We’ll continue to monitor wait times all over Disney World, so stay tuned.

  1. I got to believe there’s been some cancellations with delta variant cases up in Florida coupled with being so close to the school year. Could the new Halloween after hours actually drive park attendance lower since some people decide they just don’t want to go under the reduced hours? Is that common?
