Five International Disney Parks Rides We Want to See Come to Disney World

It’s no secret that Disney has some incredible rides and attractions at its global Parks, and thankfully we are starting to see some of those rides arrive at Disney World! (We’re looking at you, Ratatouille!)

Disney Imagineers work to create Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

With the anticipated opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure this fall from Disneyland Paris and TRON Lightcycle Run from Shanghai Disneyland (hopefully also this year), that got us thinking:

What other rides do we want to see come to Disney World from global Disney Parks? Here are our top picks!

Mystic Manor – Hong Kong Disneyland

We wouldn’t dream of replacing our beloved Haunted Mansion, but perhaps it could use a sister haunted attraction! Mystic Manor is Hong Kong Disneyland’s version of Haunted Mansion, and it is a technological wonder!

Mystic Manor

To further justify bringing it stateside, the story of Mystic Manor is nothing like Haunted Mansion. This trackless dark ride takes guests through a magical museum where artifacts from around the world come to life. The museum is run by Lord Henry Mystic, and he is opening the doors to his private museum collection for you to explore. You embark on this “enchanted gallery tour” alongside Mystic’s faithful monkey friend, Albert.

Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the BeastTokyo Disneyland

This classic dark ride takes guests through the story of Beauty and the Beast, with state-of-the-art technology making you truly believe you stepped into Belle’s world!

This is the first ride-through attraction of Beauty and the Beast anywhere in the world and the first time that Belle or the Beast have appeared as audio-animatronics. The ride vehicle itself is an enchanted tea cup which is said to give guests the feeling of dancing throughout the attraction. Bring this to Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom, and we’ll ride it all day!

Space Mountain — Disneyland Paris

Although we could never replace Haunted Mansion, perhaps Space Mountain could use an upgrade? After all, it’s going to have some serious roller coaster competition when TRON opens!

Now, we aren’t picking favorites here, but let’s talk for a minute about just how COOL Space Mountain is at Disneyland Paris. Similar to Rock N Roller Coaster or Incredicoaster, the Paris version of Space Mountain has a LAUNCH at the beginning of the ride!

Not only that, but it’s the only Space Mountain in the world that has inversions! And if it wasn’t unique enough already, this version is the only Space Mountain that has a portion of the track OUTSIDE the mountain itself. Disneyland Paris’ version has also experienced overlays similar to Disneyland in Anaheim.

Pooh’s Honey HuntTokyo Disneyland

Most Disney Parks worldwide have some version of a Winnie the Pooh dark ride, but Tokyo’s version truly stands out among the rest! Pooh’s Honey Hunt is a trackless dark ride that follows the adventures of Pooh and all of his friends! But while the basic structure of the ride is similar to versions found in Disney World and Disneyland, the technological aspects of this ride are one of a kind.

The ride is controlled by a sophisticated computer system that randomizes the movement of your honey pot ride vehicle, making each ride unique! At times the honey pots in the room will dance in synchronization, while at other times you’re whisked away further into the Hundred Acre Wood!

La Tanière du Dragon — Disneyland Paris

We’re hopping back to Disneyland Paris for our final attraction we wish would come to Disney World: Sleeping Beauty Castle in the heart of Disneyland Paris is truly remarkable. Filled with hand-crafted stained glass windows and tapestries, it’s a work of art!

But do you know what can be found under the castle? La Tanière du Dragon, or The Lair of the Dragon, is a walk-through attraction that brings guests through the caverns of the castle, coming face-to-face with a dragon!

Disney World and Disneyland both have various walk through exhibits, from Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland to the animal exhibit walking trails in Animal Kingdom. And soon, EPCOT will be home to a Moana-themed walk through attraction. But there’s something truly wondrous about the beautiful and enchanting focal point of Disneyland hiding something foreboding and monstrous. And a walk through attraction may not be as thrilling as a roller coaster or even a classic dark ride, but it certainly adds character to the park, and offers guests the opportunity to “stumble” upon some magic.

    1. I wish for you in Orlando the Crush Coaster from Disneyland Paris. The Paris version of Big Thunder Mountain is a bit different too; you board (and exit) on land, but the actual ride is on the island of the riverboat ride. Also there’s an Indiana Jones rollercoaster with inversionin Paris, that coaster rode backwards on the tracks the first time I rode it.
For Disneyland Paris (where I’m an annual pass holder) I wish we would have more gluten free dinner options and an interesting 3rd park in about 10 years. Maybe something like Animal Kingdom? (A)
