When you’re visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom there are a lot of spots to check out…well…animals!
You can take a walk on THREE different nature trails and find wildlife like gorillas, tigers, and okapi, ride through the savannah on Kilimanjaro Safari, or even watch as Disney Cast Members care for animals at Conservation Station. But, did you know that you can pet some animals at the park too?
Rafiki’s Planet Watch is located at the back of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and features four different experiences including a petting zoo called the Affection Section.
At this spot, you can get up close and personal with sheep, goats, llamas, donkeys, and cows. And, they’ll even let you touch them! But, there’s one notable thing that you’ll need to know before you head in!
Today, we stopped by the Affection Section and were asked if we had received the COVID-19 vaccine prior to entering. According to the Cast Member, those who are not vaccinated are required to wear a mask in the area (even though masks are not currently required in most parts of Disney World) for the protection of the animals.
One thing to note is that proof of vaccination is not required and only a verbal confirmation is needed if you have been vaccinated.
So, if you’re headed over to the Affection Section on your next trip, be sure that you bring your mask with you! And, stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
