And, if you’re heading to New York, you’re going to want to know about the reopening date and details of the popular Harry Potter play on Broadway!

The Hollywood Reporter has reported the details on how Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will return to Broadway in a newly imagine one-part performance. Previous to Broadway’s closures, The Cursed Child told its sequel story to the Harry Potter series in an immersive two-part performance that guests would watch in one full day or divided up between multiple days.

However, show producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Collin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions will help adapt the story to fit a one-part show at Broadway’s Lyric Theater that guests can either see in a single, full afternoon or evening.

Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender have stated to The Hollywood Reporter that “Given the challenges of remounting and running a two-part show in the U.S. on the scale of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the commercial challenges faced by the theatre and tourism industries emerging from the global shutdowns, we are excited to be able to move forward with a new version of the play that allows audiences to enjoy the complete Cursed Child adventure in one sitting eight times a week.”

The new version of the play will be “a compelling theatrical experience in its own right,” according to the creative team.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will return to Broadway on November 16th, as tickets go on sale to the general public on July 12th. The other North American shows in San Francisco and Toronto, Canada, will feature the same one-part show. However, productions in Melbourne, Australia, London’s West End, and Hamburg, Germany will keep the same two-part format.
