Each time you head to Universal Orlando, we’re sure you’re making a bee-line for your favorite attractions!
Whether you’re a thrill seeker and hop on the coasters or you like to relax on some of the more tame attractions, there’s something for everyone in the parks.
But out of all the rides in Universal Orlando, these are the 10 all-time best ones!
The Revenge of the Mummy
This isn’t you regular museum, folks! Although it may look like you’re stepping into a Museum of Antiquities, you’re actually getting ready to experience the Revenge of the Mummy. And you should be afraid… very afraid (not really, but it’s still a lil bit spooky)! The indoor roller coaster is unique in the fact that you’ll stop and go throughout the ride to experience various scenes, like when the mummy comes to life and attempts to take your souls. Y’know, just a normal day in Universal Orlando.
The high speed track is accompanies by pyrotechnics and smoke, where you’ll go backwards in a last ditch attempt to escape the mummy’s curse. But, you don’t have to worry if you don’t like inversions, since there are no loops on this indoor coaster!
Escape from Gringotts
If you’ve ever wanted to take a trip to the Gringotts Bank, now’s your chance! Once you pass the Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon perched on top of the bank, you’ll be able to see life-like goblin animatronics conducting their business inside Escape from Gringotts. The bank’s interior is gorgeous with a stunning crystal chandelier and spiral staircase lower into the depths of the mine. While you are able to witness a pre-show with Bill as the host (kind of a rare character to see in the parks), the REAL thrills come with the beginning of the ride!
The start of the ride pulls you backward and propels you forward into the mines as guests wear 3D goggles for a fully immersive experience. You really feel like trolls are shaking your cart and that you have an encounter with Voldemort, Bellatrix, and Nagini. Oh, and be sure to actually stop by for some REAL money from Gringotts as you exit, since you can use it around the parks!
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
Speaking of interactive attractions, the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man gives you a tour of New York City with your friendly neighborhood Spidey! The ride vehicle moves along with the screen’s imagery, so it feels like you’re scooting through the city with the superhero. You actually feel like you’re falling in some parts, and you even feel the jolt of Spider-Man jumping on the car.
It’s a great prequel to Avengers Campus for Marvel fans who are opting for Universal Studios instead of the Disney Parks! And you can take a look at the rest of Marvel Super Hero Island while you’re there!
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
If you’re ready for an adventure away from Harry and his friends (sometimes you just need a little break from the chosen one), Arthur Weasley and Hagrid are ready to send guests on a journey into the Forbidden Forest! After Blast-Ended Skrewts go missing, guests must board Sirius Black’s motorbike on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure to visit various Wizarding World wildlife along the way.
The coaster has a thrilling ability to storytell, along with stopping and starting on the track without losing any energy or momentum. Once guests reach that grand finale (we won’t spoil it for you), they might add Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure to the very top of their favorite ride lists.
VelociCoaster
The newest (and greatest) attraction to arrive in Universal Orlando had its beastly opening in 2021, and the VelociCoaster was worth ALL the hype. The queue builds upon the past Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies with props from the films as well as a video introduction from past and present characters. Oh, and we can’t forget to mention that amazing raptor animatronic who’s ready to head on its next hunt! (Uh-oh!)
The ride features a speedy track, amazing inversions, near misses and turns, incredible heights on a top hat tower, zero-gravity stalls, and (of course) the mosasaurus roll. But you’re going to have to ride it to experience that all for yourself!
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
It’s ALWAYS emotional when you finally get to step foot into Hogwarts when you enter Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. As you walk through the halls, you’ll see the moving portraits, Sorting Hat, and even the characters talking to you like they are really there. (Universal’s projection work is on POINT in this ride!) The ride vehicles move in a way that you actually feel like you’re floating around with Flu Powder due to the unpredictable movements.
And the combination of both screen work and actual props allows guests to fully make their way around the grounds of Hogwarts without leaving their seats! We just can’t wait until we’re welcomed back into the Grand Hall once again.
Men in Black: Alien Attack
Okay, we totally have to be honest — Men in Black: Alien Attack is just way better than Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Along with the hidden details in the queue, you can also interact with the aliens around you AND the players in the vehicles next to you! While you score some major points shooting at the wide array of aliens attacking the city, you can also shoot your neighbor’s car. And, if you hit it just right, they’ll spin around so you can continue snagging a higher ranking on the points chart.
And if you want to score BIG, you can read our full guide on how to get the best points on Men in Black: Alien Attack!
The Incredible Hulk Coaster
You might notice that giant green coaster right as you waltz into Universal’s Islands of Adventure, but the Incredible Hulk Coaster is more than just a crown jewel of Marvel Super Hero Island. It’s also an incredibly exhilarating coaster that sends you on intense drops, twists, turns, and inversions at a high speed.
Trust us — you might feel as powerful as one of the Avengers after you conquer this mean, green, electrifying machine!
Jurassic Park River Adventure
Despite the new VelociCoaster, the parks also have been home to the long-time Jurassic Park River Adventure. As the past meets the present, the water ride focuses more on the Jurassic Park films with tranquil dinosaurs at the start of the attraction. Then things obviously go wrong because the T-Rex escapes into the park.
Just when you think you’re in the clear, a life-size version of the T-Rex pops out at the grand finale before that awesome drop and SPLASH!
Hollywood Rip-Ride Rockit
When you walk into Universal Studios Florida, that climb straight upwards is a pretty noticeable view in the park. And, while the Hollywood Rip-Ride Rockit itself rocks, its playlists are even BETTER! Guests actually get to choose the song they listen to during the ride-through (with a secret song menu available to everyone as well!). The track isn’t super intense, but it’s definitely fast and fun as you weave in and out of buildings around Universal Studios Florida!
Although these are the crème de la crème of the Universal Orlando rides, each of the other attractions are unique and a total blast to visit! So, the next time you’re in Universal, be sure to take a spin on all the other attractions around the park as well! Buuuut, you’re totally want to carve out some time for these awesome picks while you’re at it too. 😉 And, you can stay tuned with All Ears for the latest Universal entertainment and news coming soon!
