If you’ve been following along with Disney World Resort hotel news, then you likely know that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is currently under some major construction.
The rooms at the resort are getting a retheme, with new designs inspired by Moana. Other areas of the resort are getting a refresh as well, including the monorail station. And today, we’ve got a big update on that construction!
A few months ago, we watched the Polynesian monorail station get demolished and torn down to be replaced with a new structure. Since then, the monorail hasn’t been stopping at the resort.
But today as we were riding by, we noticed some new pieces getting installed!
A new design element was being put in place on the frame for the station, and we love the orange and yellow color scheme! Previously, the beams here were just plain brown.
You can take a look at the concept art for the upcoming design below.
The new rooms are supposed to be completed this summer for the reopening of the resort, so we imagine that they’ll be hard at work on the monorail station as well.
