Can you believe that 2021 has finally arrived?!

While 2020 felt SO long, it also feels like January 1st snuck up on us pretty quick. As we’ve popped into the parks throughout the holiday season, we’ve seen quite the range of guests heading to the parks during days that were busier and a little quieter than we expected.
And, as we ring in the start of 2021, we’re taking you with us to see what Disney World is like during one of the last days of the holiday season! So, tag along with us as we give you a look at what the holiday crowds are like today for New Year’s Day in the parks! When we first arrived at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we sailed right through the entrance to the parking area.

Pandora — The World of Avatar is a popular spot in Animal Kingdom, so we headed over there to see how the New Year’s Day crowds were! Flight of Passage had a pretty long queue that extended through the land, but keep in mind that standby queues are still socially distanced!

Na’vi River Journey had a posted wait time of 60 minutes in the morning. Overall, it felt like your average day in Animal Kingdom in terms of crowds!

The big question on our minds was how busy it would be as we hopped from park to park! Park Hopping returned today in a modified fashion, and currently you cannot hop from your first part until 2PM. As we ventured from Animal Kingdom to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we didn’t see too many crowds! In fact, the bus stop was virtually empty!

We took the Disney Skyliner to hop from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to EPCOT. It was pretty quiet here, too!

We noticed some crowding in EPCOT today. There was a 15-20 minute standby wait to enter The Land Pavilion, so we headed over to The Seas instead!

The Seas With Nemo and Friends had a posted wait time of 30 minutes, but we walked right on!

Then it was time to hop to our fourth and final park of the day, Magic Kingdom! Once again, Park Hopping was a breeze, and our bus was nearly empty!

There was plenty of room around Cinderella Castle for selfies!

As we watched an afternoon character cavalcade, we noticed that there weren’t too many people crowding along the walkways where we were standing. We’ve definitely seen worse!

While we continue to make our way around Disney World this week, we’ll be sure to give you a look at what the crowds are like in the parks as well as in between as we Park Hop! And, we hope that you’re having a safe and happy holiday season, wherever you may be celebrating.

I have two planned vacations at WDW in 2021 that I may cancel due to the many issues that have been changed at WDW. As park capacity increases, wait times will increase significantly and in some cases to as much as three hours. Disney has completely taken way the ability to plan a WDW vacation with no fast oasses and no way to preplan a vacation. Plus there are many venues just not available and many having breakdowns. Unless things change in 2021, I may never go to WDW again.
