We have just learned some major developments coming out of Walt Disney Studios, specifically in regards to two of their biggest franchises.

CNBC has reported that all Star Wars and Avatar films that have had attached release dates have been pushed back by one calendar year. The premiere date of Avatar 2, which was set for December 16th, 2021, will be used instead for an unnamed Disney live-action Film.

The delays have impacted three upcoming Star Wars films and all four of the planned Avatar sequels. Despite the Avatar films officially being back in production, something that fans have been anticipating for years since the first film came out in 2009, we will all have to wait a bit longer before we see the franchise continue in theaters.
