Over the past couple of weeks, Disney World has called back more and more furloughed Cast Members to work as the parks and resorts prepare to reopen.

The next wave of calls Disney is planning on making is for their professional actors and performers.

In a statement made by Actors’ Equity Association, the union that represents professional actors across the country, Disney World intends on calling back their union performers this week to begin rehearsals.

Disney’s intent to call the performers back does not necessarily mean they will return for rehearsals, but it does follow Disney’s pattern of calling back their union employees ahead of the park openings.

Most of the on-stage performers guests see at Disney World are members of Actors’ Equity Association. Some of the shows these actors perform in, like Finding Nemo: The Musical, are currently not scheduled to reopen with the parks.
