Ten Disney Ride Vehicles We WISH Our Cars Looked Like!

Buckle up because it’s time for a ROAD TRIP! Seriously, some of my best childhood memories come from road trips to the Disney Parks, munching on snacks and giggling at signs for Yeehaw Junction.

Of course, the only thing more fun than driving to Disney is riding things at Disney. So what if we were to combine the two? Here are ten Disney ride vehicles we’d love to turn our cars into. Oh… and Xzibit, if you’re reading this? Call me!

10: The Autopia Cars (Autopia)

So sleek and futuristic…

Compared to the race-track themed Tomorrowland Speedway, Autopia has a  more relaxed aesthetic inspired by the concept cars of the future. Or, you know… the future circa 1955. The results are these sleek, adorable vehicles that almost look like toys brought to life. Having one of these scaled up to full size would be the perfect ride for a Disney fan, if one of the more pedestrian ones… and the last thing anyone with a custom ride wants to be is a pedestrian.

9. Lenny The Cab (Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin)

The original Car Toon.

Before there was Lightning McQueen, Lenny was taking guests on a wild tour of Toontown to save Roger and Jessica Rabbit from Judge Doom’s Goon Squad. Oh, and that name isn’t a typo; the vehicle you board on this iconic Toontown attraction isn’t Benny the Cab from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, but his cousin. Lenny is a self-driving, wise cracking machine who is always on call. Plus he’s a tribute to one of our favorite movies of all time! Who needs Uber when this cabbie is around?

8. Sim Car (Test Track)

The nice thing about the Sim Car is that it’s whatever car you decide it is. Seriously, you design it in the queue. That makes it a versatile machine that prioritizes whatever aspect you want; fuel efficiency, power, responsiveness… the crash avoidance and self-driving technology also don’t hurt.

7. First Order Troop Transport (Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance)

R5 isn’t the best driver, but this self-driving troop transport will get you where you want to go… if where you want to go is an escape pod. The brutalist, high-tech aesthetic just screams Star Wars, and there’s even room for seven of your closest friends! Who needs a Landspeeder when you’ve got one of these?

6. Doom Buggy (Haunted Mansion)

Doom Buggy!

Is it spacious? No; it’s as cramped as a crypt. Is it elaborate? Also no, but man, does this thing have some classic style!  When you roll up in a Doom Buggy, everyone knows you’re going to be the afterlife of the party. This thing has more hearsepower under the hood than you could possibly imagine! Just be sure to check for hitchhikers.

5. Flying Carpet (Magic Carpets of Aladdin)

Magic Carpets of Aladdin

While it may just be a Dumbo clone, the vehicles on this ride look downright comfy. Covered in plush cushions, this thing is the epitome of Arabian luxury. I’d let this rug carry me to a whole new world in style. Bonus points if it has the personality of Carpet from the movie. I never thought I’d grow so attached to a textile.

4. Super Stretch Limo (Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster)

We got you a REALLY fast car.

It may not be the most luxurious limo, but if you need to get somewhere FAST, the Super Stretch from Rock N’ Roll is your number one choice. What other car can bypass traffic jams by ignoring the laws of physics and sending you flying through a giant donut? You won’t have enough time to register the fact the thing doesn’t have a built-in mini-bar because you’ll already be at your destination when you realize what’s happening.

3. Flying Pirate Ship (Peter Pan’s Flight)

Peter Pan’s Flight

I live for the pirate aesthetic… but cheap air travel is a plus as well. These colorful cruisers are some of the most iconic variations on the omnimover system at any Disney Park and would definitely draw eyes as you soar past Big Ben on your trip to Neverland.

2. Lightcycle (TRON Lightcycle Run)

TRON Lightcycle Run Ride Vehicles

If you’re looking to live off the grid, this is the perfect vehicle to help you make your escape. In all seriousness, though; TRON managed to take what was essentially a multiplayer game of Snake and turn it into one of the coolest rides in sci-fi. These virtual vehicles are fast, stylish, and dangerous; perfect someone with an A.I. for style!

1. The Millennium Falcon (Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run)

PUNCH IT! ©Disney

Yeah, there’s no contest. Do you even blame me for this one? There are a lot of cool rides and attractions at Disney, but there’s only one Falcon (okay, technically there are two, but still). Bonus points if it has the holochess table.

Is there a ride that you’d want to turn your ride into? Let us know in the comments!
