A few days ago, we brought an update from the Orange County Economic Task Force on proposed guidelines for the future reopening of theme parks like Disney World.

It’s important to note that none of these guidelines are definitive, but instead are ideas being brought up by Orange County businesses. However, some of the ideas included potential restrictions on capacity, increased sanitation, and other changes that could be looked at for the reopening of theme parks, as well as hotels.
Hotel operations could potentially be seeing more changes than that, though. The task force also discussed the possibility of having sneeze guards at check-in counters between guests and employees, and removing coffee makers, coffee cups and glassware from rooms. In the proposed idea, the mini-bars in each room would also remain empty.

Restaurants within hotels would most likely also be subject to having mandatory hand sanitizer dispensers at every table, possibly disposable menus, and tables spaced 6 feet apart at least. Employees at these restaurants would have to wear face masks and submit to temperature checks before entering.

Yesterday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the state of Florida (with the exception of several southeastern counties that have been hit particularly hard by the health crisis) will enter phase one of reopening on May 4th. While local governments will be able to choose to go stricter on the regulations set by Governor DeSantis, they will not be able to relax the regulations.
It’s important to note that these are all potential things being discussed right now and nothing has been officially enacted. We will keep bringing you updates from the Orange County Economic Task Force meetings as they come up.
