Disney Cruise Line Announces They Will Be Extending Suspension of Departures Due to Coronavirus

March 14th Update: As of today, Disney Cruise Line has announced they will be extending their suspension of new departures, extending the suspension of new departures through April 12th, 2020. This precautionary measure will apply to all four Disney cruise ships.

Following news that Disney World, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris will be temporarily closing, Disney Cruise Line has announced their own temporary closure due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Disney has announced that Disney Cruise Line will soon be suspending new departures in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Disney Cruise Line will be suspending all new departures starting Saturday, March 14th through the end of the month. (UPDATE: As of March 14th, Disney Cruise Line has announced they will be extending the suspension of new departures through April 12th, 2020.)

Additionally, the Canadian government has announced they will not allow any ship with 500+ passengers to dock in a Canadian port from now through July 1st. The Disney Wonder currently has a sailing scheduled to embark and/or debark in Vancouver beginning April 29th. While they have not made changes to any itineraries, they will be evaluating various options.

For Disney Magic Sailings Through May 8th, 2020, and Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder Sailings Through May 31st, 2020, guests can change their reservation up until the day prior to embarking and receive a 100% cruise credit for a future sailing within 12 month of their original sail date. To do so, guests may call (866) 325-2112 or (407) 566-3510.

This suspension comes as Disney announced today that Disneyland Resort, Disney World, and Disneyland Paris will be closed through the month of March.  This means that as of Sunday, March 15th, all Disney parks around the globe will be temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  1. We have had to cancel our plans and would like to commend DisneyWorld for making the process so easy. Disney remains #1 in our books and there is no doubt we will return when this is over.
