Magic Kingdom Updates: Splash Mountain Down, Liberty Square Gets a New Sign, and TRON Continues to Download 1/8/2020

Work continues at Magic Kingdom with ride refurbishments, new signs, and the continued construction of the Tron Lightcycle Run Coaster!

It still looks basically the same.

We haven’t had a construction update in a while, since the holidays have put a damper on any major changes, and Tron still looks the same as it has for the past two months.

What are your secrets?!

Construction seems to be focusing on the internal structure now, meaning that we probably won’t get any dramatic new shots until they start adding in the facade. We’re still over a year out from the ride’s opening day, so we’ll keep you posted if there are any major updates.

In more depressing news, Splash Mountain is down for its annual winter refurb.

Not a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Day…

This happens every year during the winter; don’t expect any major changes, but do expect the ride to be tested for safety and to have worn out elements replaced and repaired.

Meanwhile, Liberty Square has gotten a new sign! With a surprising addition.

I could go for a tea party right now.

The main sign at Liberty Square has been altered with a revolutionary call to action. It seems like the British are coming to town with a shipment of overtaxed tea, leaving the Sons and Daughters of Liberty to stand against them! Will you? Why don’t you gather under the Liberty Tree at 9 o’ Clock to see how you can help!

That’s it for this iteration of Magic Kingdom Construction Updates. Notice anything we missed? Let us know in the comments.
