Disney KiteTails at Animal Kingdom

Disney KiteTails was a new daytime show that debuted in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2021 for Disney World’s 50th anniversary. The show takes place over the water in the Asia area and involves some very elaborate kites.

Currently the show is best viewed from the bleachers built into the areas surrounding the lagoon, but Disney has announced that the show will soon be updated so guests can enjoy it from all around the water.

Hey, Simba!

There isn’t much of a story to the show, but there is a lot of presentation and majesty as the very large kites soar overhead, many pulled by watercraft. The landings have become somewhat infamous as the kites are set down in an unused section of the stands, but even that is charming.

Currently there are shows themed to The Lion King and The Jungle Book and they alternate which show is playing. All of the shows feature animal kites and puppets and fun, upbeat music.

There are many shows of KiteTails throughout the day, so you will want to check that day’s times guide for accurate showtimes.
