Disney Springs is home to SO many restaurants, it can often feel a little overwhelming when you’re trying to decide where to eat. That’s why we’re here to help!

Whenever we hear that a restaurant has new menu items available, we make it a mission to head over there and try them out ASAP, that way you know if it’s worth a stop on your next vacation. For City Works, there are FOUR new menu items available, and we’ll tell you now — two of them we’d get again, but the other two were one-and-dones.
All four of these new menu offerings are part of the Chef Selects part of the menu. There are two drinks (both alcoholic) and two food items on this small section of the menu, and we had to try them ALL out to get the full experience.

Starting off with the drinks, the Lavender Margarita is $15.95 and made with Lunazul Blanco, Cointreau, lavender syrup, agave syrup, and housemade sour mix. This is certainly a sweet drink, so you’ve got to be a fan of that to enjoy this drink! It’s very smooth and only burns like alcohol once it hits your chest. We wish we could have tasted the sour mix better, and the lavender was subtle, not as floral as we anticipated. The agave flavor is nice and refreshing, and we did enjoy squeezing the lime in for a bit of an extra twist.

The other drink available is the Spicy Watermelon Paloma for $15.95, which is made with Camarena Silver, lime juice, chili simple syrup, watermelon syrup, and grapefruit soda. This was sweet, sour, and spicy! It burns right at the top of your throat, in a good way, but if you’re spice-adverse, this may not be the best fit. The watermelon syrup was the other dominant flavor, which was then offset by the sour grapefruit soda and lime juice. It’s more unique than the Lavender Margarita, but we’re not sure we’d get this one again.

When it came to the food, we grabbed the Pastor Pork Tenderloin for $30.95. This is made with marinated pork tenderloin, grilled pineapple salsa, cilantro, white onion, cilantro-lime rice, adobo sauce, and micro cilantro.

While the tenderloin was juicy on the inside, it wasn’t as tender as we would have liked. The black pepper seasoning on the outside is pretty strong, and while it doesn’t really have a crust, the flavor of it is overall pretty good. The adobo sauce was a highlight for us, as it’s the perfect complementary spice to the pork — not super hot, but elevates the flavor of the tenderloin, and complements the sweetness from the pineapple salsa. The rice was nice and fluffy, and there was plenty of it, but we don’t think there’s enough of the tenderloin here to warrant $30.

Finally, we have the Funfetti Funnel Cake for $12.45, which is funnel cake, vanilla ice cream, orange cream cheese frosting, berry jam, Fruity Pebbles, and powdered sugar.

You know exactly what you’re getting when you order this, and it really delivers! The funnel cake is crunchy and fluffy, and the ice cream is also of great quality. We couldn’t really taste the orange cream cheese frosting, sadly, since the berry jam was the dominating flavor, though that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. The fruity pebbles also added a nice texture crunch, which we loved, and this was a great portion for the price!
