EVERYTHING You Should (and Shouldn’t) Order at Disney’s NEW Princess Restaurant

We have finally set sail on the brand-new Disney Adventure cruise ship, and they’re taking you along with us!

Let’s eat!

The Disney Adventure is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to sail from Singapore and will sail throughout Southeast Asia. We’re making our way around the ship, checking out all there is to see and do — and right now, we’re bringing you a look at the Enchanted Summer Restaurant!

Enchanted Summer Restaurant transports you to a village dining hall with rooms inspired by Disney Animation’s Tangled and Frozen. A buffet is served for breakfast and lunch, featuring regional and international cuisines. At night, the restaurant becomes a table service experience for rotational dining.

This restaurant has two dining rooms, an Olaf dining room and a Maximus dining room. We dined in the Olaf dining room.

Olaf dining room

As expected, the Olaf dining room is themed around Frozen. You’ll see busts of Anna and Elsa…

Kristoff and Sven even have their own little spot in the restaurant.

The dining space features tables and chairs. It has a real Arendelle homey feel to it.

The menu features a bread plate, as well as small plates like salad, shu mai, soups, and more. Entrees include prime rib, rice dishes, salmon, and more.

The menu

The Bread Plate features Matcha Marble, Soft White, and Whole Wheat Rolls.

We started with the Porcini Sachetti, made with porcini mushroom pasta, Swiss and Fontina cheese, garlic, thyme, and prosecco wine sauce. The porcini had the perfect amount of mushroom filling, and the flavors were earthy and balanced with the pasta. The prosecco wine sauce was the real star of the dish, though. It was herby and buttery, and it’s hard not to lick it right off the plate. This is also a good serving size that could be a meal in and of itself, although it’s listed as a small plate.

The Pork and Shrimp Shumai is served with tobiko, black rice vinegar, and chili oil. Shumai is a popular Chinese dim sum item, and we really enjoyed this version of it. The pork and shrimp paired so well together, and the dumpling had a nice bouncy texture. The tobiko on top added a nice texture, as well as some saltiness that made it taste more unique.

For an entree, we went with the Roasted Prime Rib of Beef, with a double-baked potato, broccolini, sweet roasted heirloom carrots, and truffle red wine veal sauce. You get a nice, thick cut of meat, which we appreciated. It’s cooked well, with just the right amount of fat. We didn’t think the red wine sauce did enough to punch up the flavor of the beef, though. The potato was a little dry, but that seems to be the thing with double-baked potatoes on Disney ships.

We also ordered the Shiromaru, made with tonkotsu pork broth, egg noodles, pork belly chashu, sesame kikurage, oyster mushrooms, menma, and spring onions. This ramen dish really surprised us because it was way better than we expected. The pork broth is nice and savory, and the other elements add a lot of flavor. The egg noodles are cooked perfectly, and the savory pork belly just melted in your mouth. The veggies around the side added a crunchy texture. The egg, though, was not our favorite part of the dish, but that could be our own personal preference. It just sort of dissolved into the broth.

Time to finish up the meal with a little something sweet. For dessert, we got the White Chocolate Bread Pudding with butterscotch sauce, almond florentine, and vanilla ice cream. This was really disappointing. Let’s start with the good: it wasn’t overly sweet and had a good balance of flavors. But it was very eggy, which really affected the texture and flavor. Now, this might not be the case when someone else orders this if it’s something that’s inconsistent, but we can’t recommend this dessert.

We also tried the Lemon Thai Basil Tart made with lemon curd, Thai basil whipped ganache, and raspberry sauce. This is a pretty basic dessert with a thick pastry shell filled with curd, in this case, lemon curd. The meringue was excellent, though, and with the addition of basil, made the dessert stand out. However, it wasn’t one of those desserts that just blew us away, and we really hoped to find that at this restaurant.

The Pixar Market Restaurant is the “sister” restaurant to Enchanted Summer, meaning you will visit one or the other for dinner on your cruise. Breakfast and lunch are buffet-style, but the restaurant becomes a table service spot for rotational dining for dinner. The dinner menu is the same, it’s just the theming that’s different!
