So much in Disney World is changing right now that it’s hard keeping up with everything happening. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting an updated area and a brand new land. Magic Kingdom is getting an expansion, a new land, and two updated rides. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting a new land.

Well, changes are happening in EPCOT, too, including a restaurant change that takes effect next week.
Last month, we noticed something odd was going on with reservations at Coral Reef Restaurant. The restaurant generally serves lunch and dinner, but lunch reservations were not available on January 4th and on. We eventually confirmed that lunch service will not be available at Coral Reef, and it will be switching to just dinner on that date.

We are also unsure if this is a temporary change or if this is going to be something more permanent, but if you’re looking to make reservations there, you’ll have to do so for dinner. We’re also not sure why Disney changed the restaurant’s hours, but it could have something to do with low demand for lunch, although we can’t confirm that for sure. It could also be some kind of cost-cutting measure Disney is taking, but again, that’s just speculation.

Disney could even just be testing out new hours for the restaurant to see what happens. However, one thing is for certain, at least for the time being, lunch will no longer be served at Coral Reef Restaurant.
The good news is that there are still plenty of other restaurants in EPCOT, both table service and quick service, that offer lunch in EPCOT, so you won’t have too much trouble finding something to eat in the middle of the day. Some of our favorites include Connections Cafe and Regal Eagle Smokehouse for quick-service, along with Garden Grill and Via Napoli for table service.
In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye out for more changes and keep you updated, so keep following us for all the latest Disney news.
