It’s almost time to head back into the city of Zootopia — but this time, it’s inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

It’s time for us all to get ready because Zootopia: Better Zoogether! officially opens on November 7th, 2025, inside the Tree of Life theater. This new show will feature Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and the rest of our favorite characters from the hit Disney film. The opening is right around the corner, and we’re breaking down everything you need to know before it arrives — from how to see it to what to expect once you take your seat under the Tree of Life.
The Tree of Life Gets a Makeover
Just in case you didn’t know, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is in the middle of a major transformation right now. Between the upcoming Pueblo Esperanza land and smaller updates happening throughout the park, there’s a lot of change on the horizon. But one of the biggest updates is happening at the park’s centerpiece — the Tree of Life.

For years, this massive icon was home to It’s Tough to be a Bug!, a 3D show that’s been making guests jump (and laugh) since 1998. But that attraction officially closed in March 2025, and Disney quickly confirmed that something new was burrowing into the Tree. In September 2023, Disney announced that the show would be replaced with a Zootopia-themed experience — and now, it’s almost here.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether! will take guests on an adventure through the different biomes of Zootopia — from Tundratown to Sahara Square — with appearances from the city’s most beloved residents.
What You’ll Experience Inside
The new 4D show starts just as the city of Zootopia is celebrating “Zoogether Day,” a massive event that honors unity across all of the city’s biomes. Guests will grab their Carrot Vision 3D Glasses and settle in for a wild ride that combines music, comedy, and Disney’s signature immersive effects.

You’ll meet a few new faces, like Heidi Howler — a wolf who’s hosting the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast.

And, of course, fan-favorite Benjamin Clawhauser will be there too — wearing his sparkly Gazelle T-shirt, glow necklaces, and bracelets, ready to live out his dream of being a V.I.Z. (Very Important Zootopian). Naturally, things don’t go quite according to plan, and he ends up taking matters into his own paws.

As the story unfolds, you’ll see performances from across the city: an ice-skating show in Tundratown, synchronized swimming from Marsh Market, and a drone spectacular over Little Rodentia — all capped off with a showstopping musical finale from Gazelle herself (yes, voiced once again by Shakira).

And if you recognize Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde’s voices, that’s because Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman are returning to reprise their roles. The creative team behind the original movie, Jared Bush and Byron Howard, also collaborated with Disney Imagineering to bring this new production to life.
How to See Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
When Zootopia: Better Zoogether! officially opens on November 7th, there will be a few different ways to experience it.
- Standby Line: Guests can wait in the traditional standby queue — just like with most other Animal Kingdom attractions.
- Lightning Lane Multi-Pass: The show will also be available through the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass system for those who prefer to reserve their spot ahead of time.
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass: For guests who purchase the Premier Pass (which includes one-time access to every Lightning Lane in the park), Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is part of that lineup as well.
If you’re an Annual Passholder, there’s even better news — you’ll be able to preview the new show early. Passholder previews will take place on November 5th and 6th, and they’ll use a Virtual Queue system. You’ll be able to join the queue at 7 AM or 1 PM on either day, and for this preview, you don’t even need to be in a theme park to join the queue. You’ll just need a park reservation for Animal Kingdom.
Why Fans Are Excited
Zootopia has been one of Disney’s most popular animated films since it premiered in 2016, so it’s no surprise that fans are thrilled to see it finally come to life in the parks.

We’ll be there when Zootopia: Better Zoogether! officially opens on November 7th to bring you a first look at the show, the queue, and all the new details you won’t want to miss. Until then, mark your calendars, Animal Kingdom fans — a brand-new adventure is just days away.
