I Asked 5 Disney Experts for the Most Skippable Ride in Disney World — It Got Heated

If there’s one thing we all know about us Disney fans, it’s that feelings run strong, especially when it comes to our thoughts on which rides are actually worth your precious park time.

Journey Into Imagination with Figment

This is why we thought to reach out to you to find out your thoughts on the matter, and you definitely didn’t hold back. In fact, this question didn’t just spark opinions — it sparked debate. Even our AllEars team couldn’t agree on which rides deserve the “most skippable” title. So we decided to get honest and share our personal picks, along with the most popular responses from all of you.

We reached out to our followers on Instagram to ask: “What are the most skippable rides at Disney World?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments! Be sure to follow so you don’t miss out on sharing YOUR thoughts!

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!

@mymagicallybalancedlife shared,

“Mission: Space, Teacups, perfectly fine with skipping Nemo ride and Astro Orbiter (so much work taking an elevator to be squeezed into a tiny spacecraft).”

A lot of you agreed that Mission: SPACE is a hard pass, especially for anyone prone to motion sickness. And honestly, we can’t argue with the elevator-to-spacecraft struggle on Astro Orbiter.

“Mission Space! Literally never again. We also skip Enchanted Tales with Belle and Small World. (And I agree: Kali River Rapids is usually not worth the effort. It pales in comparison to Bilge Rat Barges at Islands of Adventure and is way too short.)”

@berlowper made a few bold calls here — especially skipping Enchanted Tales with Belle. For many guests, this show is a one-and-done kind of experience. It’s charming and beautifully themed, but if you’re not traveling with little ones (or you’ve already done it once), it’s easy to see why it might not make the must-do list every trip.

“I hate to say it… Star Tours… I get motion sickness so it had never been for me.”

Star Tours is a nostalgic favorite, but the 3D visuals and simulator-style movement aren’t for everyone. Some of you told us you skip it just to avoid feeling queasy the rest of the day.

“The fact that magic carpets isn’t on here is crazy.”

We can’t lie — this one made us laugh. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin definitely got several shoutouts as being skippable, especially since it’s so similar to Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

@picklevix gave us a bold take:

“Jungle Cruise for me…hate it.”

Now that’s a hot take. Jungle Cruise usually lands in the “Disney classic” category, but we totally get that the humor isn’t for everyone. Those pun-filled skipper jokes can be a hit or miss, depending on the crowd and the skipper you get.

“Tron Lightcycle Run. Too short, overrated, long lines, seats are so uncomfortable.”

TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the newest attractions at Magic Kingdom, but several readers agreed that the experience can feel too brief for the time and effort it takes to ride it.

@troddsatchapelhouse added,

“Space Mountain. It’s a bone rattler.”

We’ve got to admit, they’re not wrong. Space Mountain is a classic, but those sharp turns and sudden drops in the dark can definitely leave you feeling like you’ve just been in a cosmic car crash.

“MK’s Space Ranger Spin is a total skip for us. However, it is useful for an early lightning lane return time to gain a head start on LLs.”

It’s plain to see that the strategy behind choosing rides is still alive and well. Many of you mentioned Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin as one that doesn’t quite hold up next to newer attractions, especially with Toy Story Mania offering a similar — but more dynamic — experience.

Luckily, the ride is currently getting a massive glow-up with new targets, upgraded ride vehicles, and a new character!
