REVIEW: This Hidden Disney World Restaurant Has a Cannoli FLIGHT…and That’s Not Even the Best Thing on the Menu

There are lots of dining options at Disney World, and some of our favorites don’t even require a ticket to the theme parks. From the Disney World hotels to Disney Springs, there are so many options that can be enjoyed without a park ticket.

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant at Disney Springs for lunch, and we’re bringing you our FULL review!

Background

Enzo’s Hideaway is a hidden speakeasy that is located in the rum runner tunnel under Maria & Enzo’s Restaurant. The restaurant serves up Prohibition-era cocktails and a variety of hearty Roman-style dishes. The entrance to this restaurant is slightly tucked away, but look for the large red sign above to guide you to the entrance.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

Enzo’s Hideaway is full of details, including swinging music and humorous graffiti.

Take some time during your visit to explore the hidden tunnels; you never know what you might find!

Inside the restaurant, it is a lively and casual atmosphere. You will find a large bar when you first enter the dining area…

…and then you will be welcomed into the large dining area.

Regular tables and chairs are available, as well as big booths along the wall.

Let’s grab a seat and get started on our meal!

Food

First, we started with the Polpettine for $16. It is classic braised meatballs, whipped ricotta, and Parmigiano cheese.

We do feel $16 for this is a bit expensive, but we’d get it again! The meatballs were juicy, flavorful, meaty, and herby in the best way. The tomato sauce was heavy on the tomato flavor, but was overall very fresh and homemade. The whipped ricotta was incredible, adding that creamy, fluffy, and milky flavor and texture that ricotta is supposed to have.

We also grabbed the Rucola for $16. It features baby arugula, radicchio, gorgonzola dolce, honey crisp apple, candied walnuts, aged balsamic, and extra virgin olive oil.

This was a massive salad that easily would have filled us up, had we added meat. Everything tasted very fresh, and the flavors complemented each other beautifully. While not everyone is a fan of gorgonzola and its funky flavor, we loved it, though we did find it was in pretty large chunks here, so we cut it up to spread it more evenly throughout the dish. You’ll get a hint of sweetness from the crunchy apples and candied walnuts, which pair really well with the tangy balsamic vinegar and smooth olive oil. We’d 100% get this again!

Finally, we also tried the Roast Beef Panino for $18. It is slow-roasted NY strip, caramelized onions, cherry peppers, garlic aioli, and baby arugula.

The bread was incredible, fluffy with a crispy exterior. The sandwich was loaded with tender meat and arugula, and we enjoyed that the onions were sweet and soft with a bit of crispiness. The creamy garlic aioli added a great bite of garlic flavor, and the cherry peppers were the icing on the cake, though they do add some heat, so keep that in mind. These types of sandwiches are only available during lunch, so if this sounds right up your alley, be sure to get there for lunch instead of dinner! 

This was our favorite item we tried, hands down, so you know we’ll be back for lunch soon.

For dessert, we also grabbed the Quattro Mini Cannoli for $16. This came with four mini classic cannoli — one pistachio, one classic, one chocolate, and one hazelnut.

The filling in all four of them was creamy and sweet, while the shells for all four were clearly very fresh, giving a fantastic crunch. Our favorite was the Chocolate Cannoli due to its heavy chocolate flavor without being too rich, and while our least favorite was the Pistachio, that was only due to our reporter’s personal preference. If you’re a cannoli fan, these are absolutely a must-grab for you!

Magic or Tragic?

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

• You want a unique dining experience. How often do you get to eat in a secret tunnel like this?!
• You’re a big fan of Italian food. That’s what the menu is made of, and although it might not be the best Italian food you’ll ever have, it will definitely satisfy that craving.
• You want a break from the chaos. Enzo’s Hideaway feels like its own world, and you almost forget you’re at Disney Springs. It’s a fun time, but it’s also super chill based on our last experience.

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

• You’re more focused on the parks. Disney Springs often gets sidelined for visitors since the parks are clearly the main draw. This isn’t a meal you should go out of your way for, but if you want to try something new, it’s a fun spot.
• You have a bunch of kids in the group. They will have fun here, but this isn’t the most fun environment for them!
• You want to get the biggest bang for your buck. Food around Disney World is expensive, and the quality was good, but if you’re going to spend the money on a sit-down meal, you may want to try a beloved spot like Homecomin’.

We totally think this restaurant is way underrated, and many people think it’s only a spot to swing by for drinks, but the food here is genuinely delicious as well! Next time you’re in Disney Springs and want a solid meal where you won’t feel cramped or rushed, Enzo’s Hideaway is the way to go.
