Disney World is constantly under some form of construction or in the middle of a refurbishment project. The parks and resorts are changing all the time!

Right now, Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom all have some pretty big construction projects going on, but so do some of the hotels. While staying at a Disney hotel during a refurbishment isn’t usually that much of a hassle, most people prefer to stay at a fully functional (and more visually appealing) hotel. If that applies to you, here’s why you may want to AVOID one Value Resort until the fall season is over.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort will be undergoing refurbishment in the lobby from now through early October. While the lobby will remain open during the construction and all amenities will be available, you will likely see and hear construction during your stay.

However, that’s not the only construction going on at the resort. While the Everything POP! Food Court and gift shop were recently overhauled and updated, guest rooms at Pop Century will be under refurbishment through March 2026. This construction began in March of this year, so it’s already been going on for quite some time.

We also want to remind you that if you plan to stay at Pop Century Resort or any other Skyliner-area hotel in January 2026, the Skyliner will be closed for regular maintenance from January 25th to 31st. In its place, bus service will be available, but since many people stay at these resorts for the Skyliner service, it’s something you’ll want to keep in mind.
