Disney recently extended a refurbishment project at a Disney World hotel!

There are lots of construction projects currently happening at Disney World. From construction in the theme parks to build Pueblo Esperanza, the new Cars area, and the new Monsters, Inc. land, to construction at Disney World hotels, including Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We have an update about a refurbishment project at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside!
Guest rooms located in the Magnolia Bend section at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside are currently undergoing a refurbishment. Initially, the refurbishment was scheduled to last from April 2025 until January 2026. However, the start date was pushed back to May 2025, and now Disney has changed the expected end date to February 2026.

That makes sense, as the start date was pushed back a month, but this could impact your stay if you are headed to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- Riverside in February 2026, as construction was initially planned to be completed by that timeframe.

Disney has not announced what the refurbishment entails at Magnolia Bend, but it could be room refurbishments similar to what was just completed at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter. However, we don’t know for sure what work is being done.

Over 1,000 rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter were refurbished and modernized. The project was completed back in May 2025. The rooms were updated with “colorful fabrics and patterns inspired by the city’s charming architecture, bringing the lively spirit of ‘The Big Easy’ to life, just like the buildings’ vibrant exteriors.” The rooms also featured nods to Mardi Gras and characters from Princess and the Frog, including Tiana, Prince Naveen, and Charlotte La Bouff.

We will continue to keep an eye on the construction at Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside and keep you up to date about its status. The hotel still remains open and operational for guests, just the Magnolia Bend area is currently under construction. You may hear and see the construction happening during the daytime.
