BIG NEWS! BRAND NEW Character Announced for 'Cars' Area in Magic Kingdom

Welcome to Piston Peak!

Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions, including an off-road race.

This is the official name of the Cars-themed area coming to Magic Kingdom to replace Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America. Disney just dropped a lot of details on the land, and wait until you meet this brand-new character coming to one of the attractions.

Meet Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore!

This Ranger will be in the pre-show for one of the two attractions coming to Piston Peak. This attraction will be a rally race ride.

He’s going to greet guests at the pre-show, being the amazing Ranger he is. He’ll cover the safety spiel and invite you to enter the attraction through the Visitors Lodge. This will get you right in the mood for all the National Park aesthetics. Disney showed us a mock-up video of the animatronic, and we can’t wait for you to see him!

Does that name sound familiar to you? You might be connecting it to Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore from the 1950s and ’60s cartoons with Donald Duck and Humphrey Bear. He’s been referred to as the “Little Ranger,” as well.

We cannot WAIT for the new off-roading adventure where you race over various terrains, avoiding geysers and navigating through mud spots. This one is for older riders.

Disney Imagineering took the off-roading elements to the max by building their own dirt course to fully understand the feeling of off-roading vehicles. They took the research and brought it back to the ride vehicles for a more realistic experience.

They even gave the ride vehicles their own names and personalities! They look so cute.

For the new Cars attraction coming to Magic Kingdom, a new type of ride vehicle will create the feeling of heading out into the frontier for an off-road rally race.
