Beware! There is an entire list of rules you should know before going to Disney World.

That includes legit rules like what you CAN’T bring into the parks, and also some unspoken rules that will make your vacation better. There are some random rules around food, including restaurants with age limits and dress codes, but we’re SO relieved that Disney World hasn’t nixed this popular food rule!
Disney World is full to the brim with delicious fast food spots, incredible sit-down restaurants, and exciting character meals. However, some people don’t want to or can’t eat the theme park food. That’s why Disney allows visitors to bring in their own food!

According to the official rule, you can bring food into the parks as long as it is not in a glass container (with the exception of small containers like baby food jars). For drinks, you can bring in non-alcoholic beverages like water bottles, Gatorade, etc. Note you CAN bring alcohol and glass containers to the Disney World hotels, though.

With the variety of people that visit Disney World, it would be nearly impossible to change this rule. So we can all take a deep breath because we don’t think Disney will change this one any time soon…for many reasons!

The first big one is the different dietary restrictions and preferences of its guests. Although Disney has a decent amount of gluten-free or vegan food, the options are more limited.
If you want to mix bringing your own food and dining at Disney restaurants, you can email [email protected] ahead of time with any diet questions or requests.

Also, kids can be the pickiest of eaters. Even if you go to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe for some chicken tenders, they could be in a mood and refuse to eat it. But if you packed some of their favorite snacks, then you could get them to eat something at least! On top of that, if you have an infant, they couldn’t eat those chicken tenders even if they wanted to! You’ll need to bring in outside baby food.

Also, many Disney World restaurants are packed and hard to score reservations for. Although this doesn’t automatically mean Disney is turning a profit, the parks are also known to increase food prices annually. Disney is no stranger to backlash for changes, but we think even they know this rule change would be too far!

If you are on a budget, have certain dietary restrictions, or need to bring your own food to the parks for any reason, we have an extra tip for you. Order Kroger Delivery online and get it delivered right to your hotel! That way you don’t have to worry about packing snacks in your luggage — it will conveniently show up at your resort.

You can order anything you would get at a grocery store. It can be an easy and solid solution to saving money on your next Disney World trip.
