Planning a Disney World trip can be STRESSFUL, and even once it’s planned the stress is far from over.

Once you’re in the parks, you also have to figure out how to complete everything you need to in the length of your stay. We have people in Disney World EVERY day discovering all the latest tips and tricks. These are 8 hacks we’ve discovered that we can’t believe we didn’t think of earlier!
Take Shorter Trips
This is what I personally do ALL the time — if you take shorter trips, they’re typically cheaper, so you can go more often throughout the year!

This is because you’re spending less on fewer park tickets, less nights in a hotel/at your accommodation, and you’ll also be spending less on dining in the parks!

Instead of taking only one trip a year or every other year (or longer) that’s a week or more, take 2-3 day trips more frequently to experience the magic more frequently. This is especially true if you drive to the parks, or if you live close by to take cheap, quick flights.
Split Your Stay
If you’re a really big fan of staying on property and would love to experience a deluxe or moderate resort, but just can’t swing it for your whole trip, we have great news. You don’t have to!

Disney World offers you the option to split your hotel stay, which is where you can stay at one Disney World hotel for a minimum of one night, and stay at another for the remainder (or you can genuinely split it evenly, or whatever way you’d wish).

This is a great way to spend at least one night at a more expensive hotel to have the experience without breaking the budget!
Stay at Airbnbs
Another hack that comes directly from me is staying at an Airbnb close to the parks instead of staying at a hotel (on or off property).

While this does mean you’re essentially staying in a stranger’s home, you can read reviews about the Airbnb to see what other guest experiences have been to see what they’re saying.

I personally save tons of money by staying in a room at an Airbnb that I’ve used many times before, so the owners know me very well and I know it’s a safe spot. Plus, I’m only about 20 minutes away from the parks driving in my own car, which can’t be beat!
Rent Out DVC Points
If you want to stay at deluxe resorts or Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts and save tons of money, we recommend renting DVC points from a reputable service!

The money you’ll spend renting the DVC points is MUCH less than what these rooms will actually cost you. You’re also helping the DVC members renting their points because they’re able to get some cash back for the points they’ve already purchased but won’t be using.

We recommend using David’s Vacation Club Rentals — they’re a reputable service that we’ve used personally and never been unhappy with!
Buy Gift Cards on Sale
Throughout the year, you may see Disney Gift Cards, airline gift cards, and/or ride share gift cards go on sale, especially if you’re a Target Circle Card member, Sam’s Club or Costco member.

If you buy these gift cards when they’re on sale, then you’re already saving money on them and can use them when your vacation comes around. It may feel a little strange in the moment, but it’ll pay off when you’re not using a ton of your cash or debit/credit card on your vacation!
Pack A Lunch
If you’re really looking to save money on your vacation, you can bring food into the Disney World parks. Disney World food isn’t the cheapest out there, so you can pack your own lunch and bring it into the parks!

You can also bring in your own snacks to avoid buying something every single time you’re hungry, and you may be surprised at how much money this saves! If you grocery shop before your trip and keep the items in your hotel room/accommodation, you could save a LOT of money and maybe even eat a little healthier on your vacation!
Grab Kids’ Meals
Kids Meals may say that they’re only for kids of certain ages, but if you’re dining at a quick service location, it doesn’t matter how old you are — you can save money by purchasing a kids meal!

Kids meals usually cost a few dollars less than adult meals but are often still plenty of food! Kids meals usually come with a small drink, a Cutie orange or apple sauce, and one additional side, plus the main meal, so for those of us with smaller appetites or who are wanting to snack around all day, this is definitely the way to go!
