If you didn’t have “new Disney cruise ship” on your bingo card for 2025, welp, you didn’t win this round.

Disney Cruise Line just announced the name of its newest cruise ship — the Disney Destiny — and our heads are spinning at all the possibilities of what this ship could bring. We know that it will have a Heroes vs. Villains theme, but one clue is leading us to believe that a new Pirates of the Caribbean experience could be coming. Here’s what we know!
Disney Cruise Line announced that the next ship will be named the Disney Destiny! It will set sail for the first time in 2025, so mark your calendars.

The ship will have a first-of-its-kind design theme, featuring Disney heroes and villains. On board the ship, you’ll encounter heroes and villains alike from stories including The Lion King, Hercules, and 101 Dalmatians.
Minnie Mouse “embodies the spirit of the Disney Destiny” and will be featured in the filigree artwork for the bow of the ship.

And, although Disney hasn’t shared too many details about the Destiny, we spotted something in a video they shared that makes us think this ship could have a new Pirates of the Caribbean experience on board! Check out the video here:
But it’s this image, in particular, that we’re excited about.

Check out the middle door on the right — what do you see? Yep — it’s that jolly roger we know and love from Pirates! Now, if you’ve been on a Disney cruise in the Caribbean before, then you probably know that all Disney Cruise ships that sail in the Caribbean feature a pirate night.

But, Disney is definitely dropping hints with this video, and from our perspective, we don’t think they’d single out Pirates unless it was going to come to the Destiny in a major way. It’s possible we could see an even bigger Pirates element on this ship, especially when you consider that Disney is expanding the Pirates universe with a new lounge in Magic Kingdom!

Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see what Disney really has planned for any Pirates of the Caribbean-related theming on the Destiny, but we’ll be on the lookout for more details!
