There’s been a shakeup in the airline world recently.
Southwest Airlines has a lot of loyal customers, but when the airline recently revealed its new plane design coming in 2025, the internet claimed they hated the changes so much that they’d start booking with other airlines. Well, now Delta Airlines has come out with a new announcement, and we’re a little worried about how the world is going to take it.
According to Delta’s website, beginning February 2024, customers can begin flying on the new and improved Delta One Cabins on the Boeing 737-800s. These new cabins will have new first-class seats for customers to sit back and relax. These seats debuted on Delta’s A321neo aircraft in 2022, offering passengers more privacy, storage space, comfort, and a studier tray table.
Select Boeing 737-800 aircraft will also receive updates in the Comfort+ and Main Cabins, including improved 10-inch Panasonic seatback screens and upgraded lavatories with touchless features. Delta is also making improvements to the winglets outside the cabin, installing split-scimitar winglets to make the plane more fuel efficient, saving up to 3.3 million gallons of fuel annually.
But that’s not all! Delta is also expanding the Delta One cabins on their fleet of Airbus A350-900s, adding eight more lie-flat seats to the cabin. This means that the fleet of planes will now have 40 Delta One Suites, 40 seats in the Delta Premium Select cabin, 36 extra-legroom seats in Delta Comfort+, and 159 Main Cabin seats starting in Summer of 2024.
Alright, internet, it’s time for you to decide — are these better updates than Southwest’s? Who are you planning to fly in the future?
