Is Cosmic Rewind’s Holiday Overlay Returning to EPCOT This Year? You Might Not Like the Answer.

November 24th marks the first day of the International Festival of the Holidays so of course, we’re here at EPCOT for the day. There is so much to eat, see, and sip. We love seeing the different World Showcase countries decorate. But, one thing from last year’s holidays might not be returning this year.

A few rides at Disney World get a special holiday overlay. At Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain, and other rides get a holiday overlay that you can experience during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. At EPCOT, you can ride Living with the Land and see their holiday overlay! They add holiday decorations throughout the ride.

Last year, Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind also had a holiday overlay. While Disney had not announced it was going to be returning, we had hoped for the overlay to come back. However, now things aren’t looking so positive. While at EPCOT on November 24th, we spoke to several Cast Members who said it would NOT be returning.

While there is no official word from Disney, this isn’t a good sign for fans of the overlay. Of course, it could still be returning and maybe debuting later in the holiday season. While we aren’t positive about what will happen with the ride, there are still PLENTY of ways to enjoy the holiday season at EPCOT.
