If you’re heading to Disney World this spring or summer, you should be prepared to run into some weather.
Don’t let the rain ruin your day!
It’s Florida and you should know that there will be rain. You will want to be prepared whether it’s hurricane season or a thunderstorm. You’ll also want to make sure you have some rainy-day outfits packed and you should read up on our tips about rain.
Recently we experienced one of those gloomy and rainy days at Disney World — well as gloomy as it can be for being at Disney World. If there are storms in the area, certain rides may be closed and this morning we see quite a few that are down.

On Main Street, U.S.A., guests were ready with their ponchos.

Here is a list of rides that were closed during the rainy day at Magic Kingdom. The Astro Orbiter, The Barnstormer, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are all closed. This could be due to lightning in the area and many of these are outdoor attractions.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tomorrowland Speedway, and The Walt Disney World Railroad are just a few more that are also closed.
Let’s head over to Hollywood Studios.

At this park, Slinky Dog Dash, Meet Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight, and Meet Disney Stars at Red Carpet Dreams were temporarily closed.

At EPCOT, Spaceship Earth, Test Track, and Gran Fiesta Tour were all closed as well.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there were four attractions currently closed — Kali River Rapids, TriceraTop Spin, Wildlife Express Train, and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail.

So what should you do if it’s a stormy day at Disney World? There are plenty of things to still do even when rides are closed. You could take advantage of seeing some of Disney’s indoor shows like Festival of the Lion King, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-a-long Celebration, or Mickey’s Philharmagic.

It might be a good idea to sit down and eat inside a restaurant like Be Our Guest or Yak & Yeki.

You can also take advantage of this time and head to Disney Springs to do indoor activities like seeing a movie at AMC Theaters, bowling at Splitsville, or shopping around.

Disney still has so much to offer during a storm, so don’t let it ruin your trip. We have more tips and tricks for a rainy day, so be sure to check out more on AllEars.net.
