See How You Could Be Part of Disney World's Updated Castle Stage Show!

Recently, D23 (the official Disney fan club) held a special event — Destination D23!

During that event, we got the chance to see some seriously awesome pieces that have joined the Walt Disney Archives, hear about NEW things coming to Disney World, and more. During one presentation, Disney announced that a an updated stage show will be coming to Magic Kingdom next year, and it seems like preparation is well underway!

Next year, an updated castle show called Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire will debut in Magic Kingdom!

This new version of the stage show will have a 50th overlay, feature a new opening number, an original song, and new costumes!

Already, the Disney World website notes that the show will be returning in early 2022, and it seems like Disney is well on its way to having the show ready.

Earlier today we spotted post on the Disney Auditions website calling for online submissions for Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire! Looks like Disney is getting ready to hold auditions for the updated show so things can get started.

The post calls for dancers who are local to Central Florida and notes that they are seeking dancers with “great technique who are proficient in musical theatre and jazz style dance.” Dancers must also be solid in lifts and partnering and “male identifying dancers who have strong tap and/or tumbling skills [is] a plus.”

That gives us a little peek into what we might be able to expect from the updated show — musical theatre-style and jazz-style dances, potentially some lifts, and a little bit of tap or tumbling. Sounds exciting! If you’re local to Central Florida and are a dancer, you can submit your audition for this new role.

Additionally, casting has begun for Disney World’s upcoming reimagined Finding Nemo musical. The show is currently casting for singers.
