PHOTOS: New Shopping Experience Under Construction in Magic Kingdom

Last week, Disney World dropped a TON of 50th Anniversary merchandise in Magic Kingdom!

We got over 100 new items to check out, but it’s not all of the merch we’ll be getting in the next few days! There’s a brand-new Vault Collection coming to Disney World soon, and today we spotted preparations for its arrival.

The new Vault Collection will feature items from Disney’s past, including retro merchandise like the original Walt Disney World Mickey Mouse ear hat design, throwback T-shirt styles, and nostalgic accessories. The new collection is also bringing along a unique shopping experience at both Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs!

Both Main Street Cinema and the Marketplace Co-Op are getting transformed into a “nostalgic museum-like display” that takes guests back in Disney history. You’ll notice old photos and props around the shops, as well as some unique photo ops. Today, we spotted construction on the new exhibit at Magic Kingdom.

The Main Street Cinema was the temporary home to the Main Street Confectionery for a while but has now closed to prepare for the Vault Collection. We spotted a new logo up, as well as a curtain blocking the room from view of guests.

There were also some new photographs hanging on the walls. There’s a picture of Roy O. Disney and Mickey Mouse…

…plus one of our favorite Florida mascots, Orange Bird! It’s a shame he doesn’t meet in the parks still today.
