PHOTOS: First Look at Disney World’s NEW BoardWalk Ice Cream!

For those who don’t know, Ample Hills Creamery at Disney’s BoardWalk closed down last year after the company went bankrupt.

A new ice cream shop!

The shop location sat vacant for a while, but now it has been replaced with a new restaurantBoardWalk Ice Cream. That spot had its grand opening today and we stopped by to try it out!

The location for this place is great — located right on the BoardWalk so it’s walking distance from Beach Club, Yacht Club, the Swan, and the Dolphin. You could even pop on over here after a day at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios for a sweet treat!

We’re ready to head inside!

As of right now, BoardWalk Ice Cream is open from 12PM to 10PM on Saturdays and Sundays, and 3PM to 10PM on weekdays. So, let’s head on in!

Let’s grab some sweets!

Inside, the shop is pretty simple with blue and green decor, an open kitchen, and LOTS of ice cream!

The menu here isn’t too large, but it’s home to some great choices! There are six different sundaes available, as well as several flavors you can get alone.

Let’s start things off with the Strawberry Splash Shortcake Sundae for $6.99. This one is made with vanilla shortcake, strawberry compote, vanilla ice cream, and topped with whipped cream.

If that’s not enough ice cream for ya, then try the Thundering Surf Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sundae for $7.49. This one is a peanut butter and hot fudge delight featuring chocolate and vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, and chocolate morsels with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

We also grabbed the Bayside Brownie A’ la Mode. It is a gooey brownie, hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, and a cherry for $6.99.

The menu also features three other sundaes that are a bit more customizable including a Ride the Wave Sundae (which has two scoops and your choice of one topping) for $5.99, a Surf-up Sundae (with three scoops and choice of one topping) for $6.99, and the Shore-side Snickers Sundae (which has three scoops of vanilla ice cream smothered in hot fudge, marshmallow topping, and snickers topped with whipped cream, chopped peanuts, and a cherry) for $7.49. Plus, they have a kids’ Mickey Mouse Sundae for $4.49.

While these sundaes were certainly tasty and helped to cool us off on a warm Florida day, we weren’t blown away by the sundaes compared to other places around Disney World like Plaza Ice Cream Parlour in Magic Kingdom. But, that won’t stop us from coming back for more! Stay tuned to AllEars for more news and updates from around Walt Disney World!
