However, the park remains closed as a part of France’s current lockdown. Instead, they have helped open a vaccination site for people to visit in the meantime. While Disneyland Paris still hasn’t released a reopening date, more travel may be opening up to European countries in general soon.

Fox 35 Orlando has reported that the European Union is currently finalizing its plans to allow United States tourists to travel to 27 nations within the area. The European Commission will be making a recommendation to member states in concurrence with American travelers returning back to the EU.

There hasn’t been a proposed date yet about when the bloc will open to Americans, but the European Commission is hoping that European tourists will also be able to travel to the U.S. in turn. Currently, details are being worked out about whether full vaccination, a negative PCR test, or proof of recent recovery from COVID-19 would be accepted for entry.

European Commission spokesman Adalbert Jahnz stated, “These are among the questions we’ll still need to figure out. The proposal is not yet made. For now, we have nothing more to go by than what the (European Commission) president said.” Still, the current case levels will determine whether this is able to occur. And, EU member states will also have the final say about whether they choose to accept American tourists with the new guidelines.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has stated that fully vaccinated people would be able to visit the EU this summer. She noted that, “The Americans, as far as I can see, use European Medicines Agency-approved vaccines. This will enable free movement and the travel to the European Union. Because one thing is clear: All 27 member states will accept, unconditionally, all those who are vaccinated with vaccines that are approved by EMA.”
